Yes, it has been 25 years now since Esmerk established a direct presence in Germany. Much has changed in the world since our Wurzburg office opened for business back in 1985 but in many ways our mission at Esmerk remains the same as it was then - to keep our clients abreast of developments in the marketplace through the provision of a tailored global information service.
In the pre-Internet days of 1985 the major challenge faced by our clients was still one of access to the relevant information. That, of course, all changed in the 1990s with the arrival and explosive growth of the World Wide Web - access to information is no longer a problem but ensuring that the right information (without all the noise) gets to the right people at the right time and in the right format is a bigger challenge than ever - and that's where we work every day to support our clients.
When the Würzburg office opened, we had just over 50 staff worldwide. I'm glad to say we've continued to grow since then, particularly in the last ten years and now we have over 200 employees across our eight locations, around 800 clients and thousands of users, literally worldwide. Despite the economic turmoil of the last couple of years we have significant plans for the future, as we seek to ensure that we are still around in another 25 years!
As we celebrate this milestone for Esmerk Germany I would like to thank all my colleagues in Würzburg for their continued hard work and commitment and, of course, all of our clients for your continued support.
